Anchor KomPo7

The Bildungswerk der nordhessischen Wirtschaft gGmbH [BWNW] supports schools with the project KomPo7 verankern in the introduction and anchoring of competency assessments.

Competency assessment procedures represent an essential offering of school-based career and study orientation and are also a central element of the Hesse-wide strategy for optimising local placement work in the transition from school to work [OloV] as well as the agreement on the initiative “Completion and Connection – Educational Chains up to Graduation” between the Federal Government and the State of Hesse.

The focus of the KomPo7 competency assessment, which takes place in the 7th grade, is the observation and description of the social, personal and methodological competencies of the students.

Target group

The project's services are primarily aimed at Hessian schools offering Hauptschule and Realschule courses and specialising in learning support, as well as at schools participating in the federal government's career orientation measures, the Career Orientation Programme [BOP] and the career entry support programme [BerEb].

Goals

For many students, KomPo7 is the entry point into career and study orientation. They explore their strengths and academic and professional interests. Recognizing their own strengths gives young people self-confidence and increases their willingness to take responsibility for their own professional future. The results of the competency assessment are documented in the Career Choice Passport and are incorporated into the counseling of students and their parents. They serve as a guide for preparing for and selecting their first internships.

Duration & Course

The BWNW will support schools in implementing the KomPo7 competency assessment until December 31, 2018. The free project services and training offers are available on an ongoing basis.
